TRADITIONAL & ALTERNATIVE MUSIC Dave quickly immersed himself in Argentine Tango as he realized this was a life passion he had always wanted.  As Dave travels nationally, he brings his deep passion, radiant enthusiasm, fun and creativity to DJ'ing, teaching and dancing Tango.  You probably recognize him as the tanguero wearing a headband. As a DJ, Dave continues to accumulate rave reviews with consistent distinct feedback: "I smiled more than I ever have!"; "I had more fun at your milonga than any up 'til now."; "Your milonga had the most upbeat music I have ever heard!" Dave loves to frolic with the dynamics of a room's energy through mixed use of wide-ranging melodies and rhythms, inspiring alternative music and varied cortinas.  Dave has DJ'ed in several communities around the U.S., and at home in Denver at Cheesman Park, the Mercury Cafe, Tango Colorado practicas and his MILONGA TANGO VIVIENDO. Dave has DJ’ed in the following cities: Ashland, OR Austin, TX Boise, ID Boulder, CO Bozeman, MT Denver, CO Eugene, OR Glenwood Springs, CO Houston, TX Kansas City, MO Phoenix, AZ Salt Lake City, AZ San Antonio, TX Seattle, WA Spokane, WA Sun Valley/ Hailey, ID Tucson, AZ Traditional DJing: Groupings of Tandas that work with a variety of rhythms and melodies to engage dancers that dynamically build energy then release the energy throughout the night, resulting in a palpable pulse that works in harmony with the energy of dancers present Tandas of differing genres and years so many musical tastes are engaged and appreciated. These include well known and loved songs with a sprinkling of lesser known songs that introduce opportunities to discover and dance to new composers/ orchestras/ songs - I consistently search out and explore new songs to offer I enjoy sprinkling alternative tandas with Traditional music (10%, unless specifically not wanted), that synergistically work with increasing the energy, variety, and inspiration of all levels of dancers, as well as working with the overall energy dynamics of the Tandas My cortinas transition between tandas and introduce the new tandas - I rarely play the same cortina twice in a night, and they are easily recognizable as cortinas! Alternative DJing: My mix of alternative music with traditional music depends on the audience and needs of the venue and/ or organizer. I have worked with mixes from 15%-100% alternative music.
